I second that. In my experience and in all the reviews I've seen an o/c'ed 300a is just as fast or faster in certain operations as a PII 450. Definitely, better than a PII 400.

I just ordered an MX300. I have Altec Lansing ACS45 speakers. I'm wondering if it would be better to just get a pair of speakers for the rear for ~$30 or get the Cambridge FourPoint set for ~$80. ...

Unless you make modifications to the chip there is no way to tell that it has been o/c'ed. So even if the mfg'er says it does void the warranty how are they going to prove it?

The PCI bus spec is 33MHz. It depends on the mobo mfg whether or not they vary the PCI bus spd as a fraction of the FSB. Personally, I think they shouldn't since most PCI cards don't o/c on the bus...

I've tried 3 different OEM 300as. All three would do 450 just fine for integer. Only one would do 450 with fp (ie Half-Life, QII) That is w/o heat sink compound which I'm picking up tonight to try...
