A decent way to shut it down would be nice,first time I went to shut a Win8 machine down ,I was like....ummmm....Finally did a ctrl-alt-del and then clicked the power symbol in the bottom right...

Could also be CB radio ,I'm sure that some regulatory board(in Canada its the CRTC) wuld be able to suggest something as most broadcast equiptment is required not to interfere with innocent...

What is the MB?I have an IWILL KK266+ the onboard audio is hardware based and therefore doesn't steal CPU cycles .Its 6 channel and is more than adequate for anyone other than an AUDIOPHILE.

Seem to remember working on a "Patriot " for a friend who wasn't getting any sound .The driver disk had a shark on it ,your friend should have gotten a sound card driver disk also? I'll surf and see...
