Seems like most people use winamp. I went to the website and it does indeed look like a nice piece of software.

My question is, what are the benefits of using winamp over the software supplied...

Just a thought. Make sure you're video card isn't using the same IRQ as the sblive.
Win98 pulled that once on me and I had audio problems playing 3d games.

I probably wouldn't buy one made by aureal since they are getting ready to dismantle
the company.

From what I understand, the aureal card and A3D are best for gaming. The sblive is best
for all other audio applications (music, midi, etc).

Nope. They have actually relased new drivers after the liveware 3.0 release. Blues news
and shugashack have just posted info. within the last few days.

The readme.txt in the zip file is dated...

There are new sblive drivers available for download at:

I have yet to actually be able to get through and download them.
