yes, with the PCI128, it tends to distort at volumes above 90%. Keep the volume down and turn it up on your speakers.

Yep, I have sound debugging down.
It seems to just be random, I'm not really doing much CPU intensive stuff anymore, so it's just randomly blipping.

Mitch, he's running WinME.
Anyway, I think WinME has it's own drivers for the PCI128, you could use those to get started, it should have automatically detected and installed the correct drivers...

I would say yes. If the sound card had an Optical input, I cannot see why you couldn't plug a CD/MD player into it with an optical cable.
The ending quality will be much better than an analogue...
