knyght23:
Sorry, my Diamond MX-300 is much better than my Diamond MX-400. And I bought the MX-300 in retail box for $45, much cheaper than that MX-400.

Event Gina is just one of hundreds of brands of professional pci sound cards, not like the soundblaster crap.
If I remembered correct Event Carla is another one.
Both are considered "cheap" for...

I am still using an A338 card I bought several years ago. It has amplifier for output, much better than some of the cheapos made now.

If I only use headpone will I be better off with the Santa Cruz card?
February 14th, 2001 02:03 PM
Any pros and cons?
The philips cars is $79 at compuusa.
the TB Santa Cruz is $79 at Fry's.

Most professional pci sound cards sell at prices higher than $400. And there are so many brands available. I don't know why everybody is claiming that GTXP is the best one.

Yep. I also got an AWE32 and eventually I figured out it is this thing that slowed down all my 3d games to a crawl. Changing to a A3D pci card makes most of the 3D games running at least 3 times...

I don't recommend MX-400. My MX-300 is way better and stable.

My mx-300 is better than my mx-400.

How come I purchased a sound blaster value oem for a little over $30 two years ago and now the price is jacked up?
The santa cruz card is $79.95 here. I think it is too expensive. When I purchased...

The low end of cambridge speakers are no good campring with Altec Lansing.

One small mistake. Grado SR-60 should be for vocal and rock music.
January 15th, 2001 06:52 PM
Grado SR-60 $69
Sony MDR-V6 $79
Beyerdynamics DT231 $69
Grado SR-80 $95
Koss Sportapro $24.95
Koss portapro $49.00

Is the mute box for you microphone unchecked?
November 20th, 2000 05:04 AM
What sound cards did you have before this one?
November 16th, 2000 02:23 PM
I think nobody is wrong.
'16 bit sound blaster pro compatible' means you have a sound card which is 16 bit sound card, but it can emulate an 8 bit sound blaster pro so it is sound blaster pro...

It sells for $99.95. Isn't that a little high considering you can get a sound blaster live value for under $40? (of course you don't get the digital port)

Bose has great speakers?
I am sorry. This is like saying Sony has great headphones. I just don't get it.
October 23rd, 2000 03:13 PM
First check your volume control settings and make sure your microphone setting is in display. Scenerio 1. If it is and check box named "mute" is checked, uncheck the box and your mic will work. ...

Most probably it is looking for the sound driver files on your GA-7ZX disk rather than some files on your win98 cab files. That is a stupid feature of win98.
What you should do?
1. When it says...

Lame, and you can download a GUI interface at its homepage. Good stuff.
October 19th, 2000 01:51 PM
MX400 is not a major step up from MX300. I prefer my old MX300 better. For under $200, a consumer market oriented Soundblaster live would be fine. If you can pay more, there are tons of professional...

Try recompile the kernel. Answer those hundreds of stupid questions, including the sound card part.
If that doesn't work, edit rc.modules file and see if it works.
