i've built a ss7 system with a built in sound card (i know but it was cheap) the chipset is the es1371 and works very well (it replaced a sb 32 pnp) but under settings i found a drop down menu...

if your talking about unreal tournament,set sound to low in the audio tab.that fixed mine.

i have a 3 year old sound card... seems to do everything i need it to do,but have always wondered why it had 2 empty memory slots and if i added memory would it somehow enhance or improve the sound....
