Plus A3D 2.0 has probably been killed off in any other hardware. Software A3D 2.0, is such a thing will ever come about, would really kill framerates in anything.

Try changing settings in Safe Mode. That's worked for me on occasion. Also make sure that you've got the latest drivers for the chipset. Hmm, specs say it's a 440BX chipset. Don't think I've heard...

I encode my MP3s at 320kbit/sec. Very good quality. The files aren't exactly puny, but they're still smaller than WAV files.

Stinks that Creative bought them out; Had Guillemont gotten them, we'd probably still have Vortex-based sound cards. Guillemont Vortex-3. That would be nice....

Well, thanks anyway, but the Virtual Ear software is $25. Sort of stinks; Aureal gives pretty much the same utilities for their sound cards as a part of the drivers.

It might need some files from the Win98 CD though; put the CD in and direct it to the Win98 directory. And of course try what smokingbear suggested.

Are there any programs, such as equalizers and EAX/A3D tweaking programs that work with the Canyon3D chip? Aureal has a nice bunch of utilities that come with the reference drivers that enable EAX...

I've got a Vortex2 card on my KT133 motherboard with no problems. It's good that you're going to use the reference drivers though; Diamond has now designated the mx300, along with any other product...

Full support for EAX and A3D on a single chip; be nice if that would happen at a reasonable price.
