They've done something similar before with SB AWE64. It was supposed to be able to play 64 MIDI voices polyphony. But they didn't say anything that it's only 32 voices which are played in hardware....

My point is that the fact that they advertise it to support 24bit sound, when in fact all it does is to downsample it down to 16.

48 KHz doesn't require digital output.
And your card will support 48 KHz nevertheless.

Actually, his CPU runs at 100 FBS. So all his memory would be running at PC100 anyway.
The only difference is that 7.5 ns memory and 8 ns memory will run at different speed. But the difference is...
In fact, you can put up to 2 8MB 30 pins SIMM on AWE32. But the card for some reason will only be able to address max 12 MB of memory.
I know it because I am using an AWE32 with 8 MB memory...
It might also be a jumper on the MB which needs to be changed in order to disable the onboard sound.
You should look in the manual.
If you don't have the manual, you might try to look for some...
Depends on how much your board can divide the PCI bus to.
If it's more or less close to 33 MHz, there shouldn't be any problem. I think up to 40 MHz should be still OK.
The only thing onboard RAM are used for are to store MIDI sample banks. If you never use MIDI, then simply set it to use no MIDI samples and it should use no RAM. Besides, the samples just take up...

I use a SBAWE32 ISA on my Win2K Professional...
Umm.. it would be useful if you could tell what kind of error you get and what OS the servers are runnign as well as CPU type and speed and all other basic information.
Any card based on the Yamaha XG chip usually have a jumper do enable or disable the onboard amp. When buying a card, look for a pair of jumpers close to the jack holes.

Well the SB64 is really based on SB32, which is again based on SB16.
All these cards use the same SB16 sound chip. SB16 didn't have hardware wavetable, while SB32 and SB64 have hardware wavetable....
