For $100, I would say the Philips Acoustic Edge is THE best sound card out there.
My personal favorite is a Philips Acoustic Edge sound card. It has the most features out there, including on the fly dolby digital.
My personal favorite at this point is a Phillips Acoustic Edge sound card with Klipsch Pro-Media 5.1 speakers. Nothing beats this combo.
Yes you can. But you should use Pro-Media 5.1's instead http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif
Yes, they are pretty good. But I would recommend the Klipsch Pro-Media 5.1 over them. Especially since they both cost the same price.
The Klipsch Pro Media 5.1 will surpass any PC 5.1 system presently out there. Yes, the sub woofer is 200 watts. Yes, it does do positional audio. You can check out both facts and other specs...
I would use the Live! sound card in your gaming box because of all the support it has in direct-x 8 compared to A3D. It's also more compatible with older games. As for quality... I really like...
