my creative labs pci 128 soundcard is actually an ensoniq one - i think that one company bought the other.
it's not bad - works great in win98 and win2k. it was poor in winme but that's winme all...

i had a adiamond sonic impact s90 based on the aureal vortex chipset.
it was [i still have it in another pc so, is, i guess] woeful. the drivers were poor and the amount of crashes adn compatibility...

this is going to sound paranoid but check the win98se hardware configuration lists on the microsoft website.
i had a no sound prob in winme and it turns out that both the soundcards i tried...

what is your system? i recently bought a sb pci 128 and have no sound at all and it has been suggested to me that it could be the build version of the card.

i had a diamond s90 in before and thought it might be the age of the card that was stopping it pnp properly and killing my sound.
the symptoms seem identical - board appears to be in fine, drivers...
