He's truly a moron. I have a Diamond Monster MX300 in a 300 MHZ K6-2 computer and there are no problems. It's an awesome soundcard, and the surround will blow you away in games that support it.

Perhaps you need to re-install DX6, that should fix the problem. I run Q2 in Max Performance and there are no problems.
