Perhaps you need to re-install DX6, that should fix the problem. I run Q2 in Max Performance and there are no problems.

I have the same system specs with a VIA motherboard. I didn't have to install anything extra with windows95, I just had to switch the PCI slot the card was in...kinda strange, huh?

The cards don't have an onboard amplifier to prevent distorsion. On the back of the box the requirements are powered speakers. Older cards have onboard amps to make non-powered speakers work.
