The latency patch will fix this and a side effect will be faster hard drive access.

It sounds like your nice new reciever is trying to decode dolby digital from a source that is not there, I suggest trying the phantom 3 chanel setting on the reciever.

With the specs you quoted the more expensive ones reproduce lower freq's better(more Bass)
