make sure all your "enviromental audio" settings are turned off.

according to the FAQ section of Creatives website, the "surround live" mode is the only way to get surround sound from a receiver with no spdif/digital jack. you have to use y splitters.

thx swank, i just checked my receiver and it does have a ground fastner on it. i wired it to my computer case and now the hum is 90% gone.

i think ill still get the coupler and see if i can get...

do you have a vcr connected to your receiver via rca jacks?
if so, try dis-connecting the coax cable going into the vcr, if you get no hum, then you know your coax needs grounding.
