I just installed an SCSI controler and CD-rom drive, and it workes fine (win98). But when the PC boots up, it sayes "SCSI bios not loaded" - do I need to worry about that, or just ignore it ?

This is not a problem, SCSI BIOS is only required for boot devices. It appends the computers BIOS with code to understand SCSI boot devices. You could disable the BIOS on the SCSI card to remove the message or just ignore it.
