I have a friend who's in the process of getting a new machine.
He wants a decent gaming card, but it must have TV-out.
I think a GeForce3 is a bit OTT and a bit expensive for his needs, so do you have any recommendations. Maybe a Radeon? I was thinking a GeForce2 MX400 w/tv-out would be his best bet, but is there anything better in the nVidia range with tv-out?
I don't mind delving into ATi, etc. if I get better value for money/performance.
I wouldn't go for an MX if you are going to fork out money pay for the full design not a stripped back version - saying this because you stress a decent gaming card
I'm using a Geforce256 DDR (ASUS V6800 Deluxe)
TV-out is such poor resolution anyway (not a statement against the video card) are you planning to use the TV-out for DVDs?
Playing games on the TV turns your brilliant PC with great graphics into a Nintendo
Agreed that the GF3 is over the top
Tell us more about your friends needs? (I would also recommend video-in)
