Ok, my question is: does anyone know more about the FireGL card? What does it do that justifies the huge price? I mean, wtf.. it costs about as much as 3 GeForce DDR cards. Is it faster, or does it produce better images, or what?

It's a pro card = expensive.
I wouldn't buy it, if you need pro TnL speed get a geforce 2.

Yeah, well, that was the whole question: what makes it a pro card? It's faster for what?
A quick scan through the specs shows: 200 milion pixels per sec non-textured, 45 milion pixels per sec textured (trilinear). For something with a 256 bit memory bus width, it's ridiculously low. I see no mention of hardware T&L. (Which is OK, given that almost noone supports hardware T&L anyway.)
Am I missing something obvious here, or what?
