Try a generic 4MB S3 or something. They can be had at any local shop for about $30 or so.

Well let's see..i'm assuming your grandmother is a typical grandmother, who probably won't be a hardcore quake 3 and unreal gamer, so what i would do is just go for the cheapest one. Try to be a little more specific on her needs. If she's just using the internet and just normal microsoft word, i really doubt she'll need to go out and buy a tnt 2, maybe try the old tnt or like the 3dfx banshee or 3dfx voodoo2.

My friend has a Viper 550 and he got it pretty cheap ($60). Just get her the 8 Meg version. That should be plenty for her needs. Plus it's a good overall card on 2D and 3D...
A banshee would be a fine choice, and they can be had for less than $50 online.

Just get a 4mb card. Unless she REALLY likes games, a basic 3d accelerator works fine.
