I try to burn a CD with music, but when I get message File to burn on CD, Drive don't let me take the CD-RW. I don't have any CD-R is there a differents. My OS is Windows XP. What else I'm duing wrong?

I use Nero, but I tried different ways, the files are there but my burner don't take the CD. I get message there is no CD in my D-drive.
State brand and complete model of the CD writer in question.
Provided there is no software/OS corruption,
Usual suspect, dead/defective writer.
Quickest method to eliminate the writer as source of issue,
IF applicable,
Borrow a verified working writer from one of your friends and test on your system...
