Drivers for Viper 550

Does anyone have installed the new drivers in diamond site.
There are really a diference???

More important is it 3DNow optimized?

The drivers(550 .255) worked better on my sys.,but im pen2 based.I think some other Amd users us the hurc(059)drivers.

I use the Hercules drivers for my viper, personally find them more stable(P2 450 128)
And the HERCUMETER rocks!

No big difference in 3DMark, but more stable.

I forget to say my system is a celeron 400 (slot 1).
So i stay with the original drivers???

Is there definitly a difference between the new drivers from Diamond, or are there some mistake?. The drivers that came with my card over a month ago have exactly the same version number, and I can find no difference between them. I haven't yet installed the 'new' one because my system is running fine. I would however be interested in installing them if there is a significant improvement over the driver I am using currently (seams the same to me).

1. Is it the same driver that I currently own
2. Is there a significant improvement

Also, i thought that there were currently no TNT / AMD drivers in existence. Is this false advertising, or are they merely improved and not optimised.

Hey Marsman, I agree, the herc drivers kick! BTW, I was messing around with settings while using the Nvidia Detonator drivers and now when I install thos my screen comes up black. My computer is not locked up, just can't see any thing. Diamond drivers work fine and herc (which are based on the detonator) work great, but nvidia=blank. They worked for several days. Any Ideas?
And should I flash my bios w\the herc bios? will it make a diff. since I am using herc drivers?

I posted some scores in Vidio cards comparing the two drivers in 3dmark.Then i noticed quality was bad with herc drivers in ZDwinbench
