Can you enter the bios of the laptop and check the boot order? You want it set to boot first from cd.
Who OS are you trying to install?
The Bios has to be set to boot from the CDROM.
If it's Win XP, 2000, or ME the CD is bootable and setup will start once the machine boots from the CD.
For WinME you will get a boot Screen with options.
the only boot options I have is boot from Floppy A: or Hard Drive C: I'm trying to get win98 on it...not sure if it will take XP
Ok you have to Boot from Floppy then.
Put in Floopy Boot Disk.
At the A: prompt type:
CD D:\
Then at the D prompt:
CD Win98
Setup
