Whenever I restart my PC in DOS mode (Windows 98) the video is much more dim than the Windows video. What's the deal here?
Good old DOS!!!
Windows 9x supports over 256 colors - DOS does not! This means that every pixel on your screen in DOS only can have 256 colors where Windows can give up to 2^32! This is the reason for the "poor" graphics!
