I recently tried to install Win2000 on my machine which is currently running Win98SE, the installation gets so far then the following error occurs and I have no choice but to reboot.
'***STOP: 0x00000023 (0x001B0085, 0xE1728E4C, 0xE160EF9C, OxE1728E3C)
FAT_FILE SYSTEM
Beggining of Pyhscial memory dump
Physical memory dump completed. Contact your system administrator or technical support group.'
Anyone got any idea what's wrong???

Are you into debugging? That occurs because the OS is "dumping" memory into a a file for debugging later. Here's the Mr. Obvious part--it happens when there is a fatal error.
I think your cpu is oc'd when you are trying to install W2k which is causing the fatal error. Try setting the cpu and memory to default before installing the OS. I got physical mem dumps several times when I was testing the oc limits of my system. If you've already done that, it may just be a concern with the RAID controller--could be the drivers or the controller is bad. I bet it's just the overclocking though.
Good luck.

I ran Win 2000 on my old PC (Compaq 133 pentium Presario 4707) and it ran great. Win 2000 never crashed. NEVER! And it had some great features too. When I tried to run it on my new Compaq 566 Celeron about half of everything wasn't compatible. It wouldn't run and I don't know why. You would think a newer PC would run better with Win 2000 than a 1997 PC, but it didn't. So I just gave away win 2000 away.

Hmm you're running 109Mhz FSB on a KT133 chipset?? Yeah I'd say that's your problem too. Although... I was actually able to push my processor further in Win2k than 98.

I should have mentioned in the post that I'm running this on a K6-2 500 at the moment as my board is awaiting replacement, I've sorted the problem out now, it seems the cd was the problem, I borrowed a freinds to try and install it again and it's all working fine, and I got to say, I am inpressed with Win 2K http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/biggrin.gif
