What's the best enemy you have gone up against in a game, from the past to the present ?
For me it was the little ones in Blood2, the things that attached themselves to my characters face and disorientated him and drained his life away and then while trying to navigate around Sin, trying not to get my head blown off I suddenly realised that my health was disappearing because a rat was chewing on my foot! http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif

Cyberdemon from Doom; that thing scared me the first time I saw it. I've been playing A vs P and those aliens are a tough bunch; only game in the world where you could die from a heart attack! http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif

Mephisto
I remember the giant scientist-mutant-spider at the end of Tomb Raider 3 - very tough!
Also the face-huggers in Half-Life - creepy little bastards, hard to hit!!
Not to forget two of the four serial killers from ShadowMan, and of course the end boss of that game: Satan himself...

nocontest for me, the Spectre from Doom and Doom ][, that is the scariest monster I ever went up against. I was pretty scared by the visible ones, but those guys, no thanks, esp in Doom where they're harder to kill (Doom ][ it's a double barreled shotgun job). It was something about the noise they made.
only thing that came close was the Cyberdemon, also Doom ][, that thing was hard to kill, 3 close range BFG9K shots before it'd die (or of course, you could telefrag it, but that oppotunity doesn't arise often).
I think the very hardest enimy to fight is those assasins in Half Life with dart guns, they move to damn quick. last time I went up against them I ended up getting board and just spraying the whole room with Gluon gun fire (cheating I know, but I was only playing that stage 'cause I lost all my saved games in a HDD upgrade)
Nice signature Mephisto.

Those Flayers in act 3 of Diablo II. Those little guys look so weak with their knives and blow darts but they always kick my ***.

The Elementals in Ghost Bear MW2 Mission 4. About 10 of them, Real small, fast unpredictable. Scurrying around a dropship. They Nuke the place 'game over' if ya don't get em all in 3 minutes. All the while being attached by heavy armor mechs dropping in by transport.

Bronto, i know that mechwarrior II mission well. The solution for that is a grizzly with about 10 LRM10s. That will do the trick!!!!! Gets'em everytime
My favorite enemy? I think the Shamblers in quake. I *always* dreaded those suckers so bad I'd jump in my seat every time I rounded a corner and *bam*! Even if I knew he was there. Easy to kill once I figured it out and switched to SSG or SNG. I do recall one horrible time trying to kill that bastard with an ax and 4 shotgun shells. ugh... But it was such a sense of accomplishment after you kill one!
