The Super Shotgun in Doom ][ is the only gun that's a serious threat to someone with a BFG 9K. Get in close and blow them straight to hell. Problem with the BFG was it took too long to warm up, and the green ball flew too slowly, the only thing to do was fire it at something close and try to kill people with the invisible residue force lines, hard to do.
next fav was the Chainsaw just for shear devilment of it, then the Plasma Gun

fx, according to id the correct translation of BFG is Big Fragging Gun, but it has also been refered to by the name you use I've even seen it called the Blast Field Gun.
