To me I think that YT is way better than Q3A. It is just overall better. The only thing that I think Q3 has over UT is the speed of game play.

i say UT also. i like the diversity of the weapons.
UT. Quake3 is a benchmark.
I say UT.
I agree with majority. UT is better then QIII.
I don't know why we need to choose, because having them both is the best option. I still prefer Q3 as it is more accessible and funny. I laugh much more at Q3 than UT.
I agree UT has more diversity and I enjoy it as well in a more serious way, but I just hate the engine/graphics. It looks ok in parts but it is so "old", "square" and "straight lined" (even with curved surfaces turned on)
One other thing I find laughable is the "red sugar cubes" that come out of people when you shoot them http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/biggrin.gif

I think this is the 15th topic here at HWC about whats better between this two games. lol http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/smile.gif
I really like UT better than Q3. Although i'm looking forward to StarTrek Voyager Elite Force coming out soon and it's based on the Q3 engine.

UT for sure. http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/biggrin.gif
Yeah, UT all the way for gameplay. Though That Q3 game engine is awesome. BTW, has anyone heard anything else on that Clive Barker game coming out based on a modified UT engine?
I like Q3A a lot. The gameplay lacks a bit after some time of playing, UT is better in that respect.
But after playing Unreal all way thru, then playing Return to NaPali all way thru, d/ling the UT demo and starting it, I thought: Oh no, not again. The weapons and weapon sounds are mostly the same, the strange movements of the models are mostly the same, and the looks are pretty much the same also.

I'll be back...
Mephisto
Yeah that is my spin on it. I liked Unreal (more than Q2), and return to NaPali although at the time many reviews and gamers were complaining about the weapons and game in general.
Now as Mephisto states the weapons, sounds, and "moonwalking" bots are basically very similar to the original unreal where have all the complainers gone now??
There is no doubt that UT gets full marks for variety of gameplay, (and I quite like it now), but must lose points for the cop out on improvements to the engine, sounds etc. UT is almost an add on "Unreal" MP mission pack http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/wink.gif
Uhh..............whaz YT Acid dude.......just kidding.....saw you was talking bout YT in your post just wondering if it should be UT....Anywayz, UT is my choice too.
UT UT UT UT UT!! By the way, is there a follow up to UT in the future? Shirley(don't call me surely)there must be an even better
UT----call it UT PLATINUM!
Quake 3, easily for graphics, you guys only like UT because you can't beat Xearo on Hardcore 10-1. Unreal Tournament will appeal to more users because of more options and skill levels, also the fact that it doesn't require a ge-force 2 to get the better of it. Quake 3 has far superior mods for example :-
Urban Terror
Weapons Factory Arena
Quake 3 Fortress
Quake 3 is far more hardcore deathmatch than UT. If you ask me they both have theier ups and downs so there is no clear winner (they're both the same if you ask me).
