are you using an mx300 sound card, high stakes wouldn't play for me, plays on my kids identical machine cept he uses sb16 and worked right off the bat. just a thought.

No, suspect I need to get the latest patch (I have a sb live mp3). At least I won the bloody race (7 player knockout; it came down to me and the computer (both of us in Boxsters). He won 5/7 races but against me, he had some trouble with traffic! http://discussions.hardwarecentral.com/biggrin.gif
That game runs so fine with all the eye-candy on and @ 1024x768, except for the crashing.
