Detonator 3's...worth the upgrade ???

Athlon 700@825
Abit KA7
Hercules Prophet II GeForce GTS 32mb DDR
128mb SDRAM PC100@117
Soundblaster Live!
Soundworks FPS1000

Is it worth the hassle installing the Detonater 3 drivers instead of my currrent 5.22's (which are rock solid) and I've read that I have to uninstall the 5.22's and select the standard graphic's adapter, then re-boot and install the Detonator 3's (Is this right?). The thing is I'm not quite sure how to uninstall the 5.22's and select the standard adapter, anybody who can help I would be forever grateful to.

Yes. Yes. YES!

Going from your 5.22 to 3 might make upto a 10% difference.

Just add / remove anything nVidia related, remove your graphics adapter, install a standard one and reboot.

Then update your standard to Det 3s!

Definately, detonator3's are better drivers for the geforce/geforce2 cards, for the tnt2 and below the older drivers perform better.

Here's what I usually do:

control panel -> add/remove programs -> remove detonator2 5.22 -> reboot -> desktop will automatically switch to standard pci graphics adapter -> install detonator3 -> reboot -> you may have to manually configure the nvidia control panel according to your preference or leave it at default

Good luck! I gained 9.2 fps using the 6.18(from 5.22) on an Asus V7700 GF2 GTS.
