So if these cooling applications execute a HLT command and SETI is supposed to be using all slack processing power. Is there really any advantage to running Rain or CPUIdle??
Based on the description S_Klass provided I would say no, but I have been known to be wrong!
Thanks for the info S_Klass!

rain and cpuIDle only really works when your surfing the net and not putting a bunch of stress on your computer. when you play a game or use seti it'll pretty much stop till you stop maxing out your cpu
strat:
The correct setting for the 2.6 core voltage is :
1------2-on---3-on---4------5.
Likewise you also have a 124mhz option for your cpu clock speed. sorry for the mix up.
Be sure to check if you got the right core voltage in the chipset features afer every configuration.
