This could be good news for apple, bad news for people who like low price PCs.

Is Intel admitting that the Athlon (and especially future athlons) is better? or are they really interested in the flash memory and telecom semiconductor (etc) markets?

Did you notice the date on that article? 04-01-2000. That was April Fool's day. I trade a few stocks and watch CNBC quite a bit. If this were true you would see it all over that channel.
