Where did you hear that because this is the first time I hear about it too.
TNproud2b mentioned it in one of his posts. I'm assuming it refers to a peltier/watercooled setup.

Yup, he does have a watercooled setup and stuff but I didn't know he called it HoochCooled?
TN has been calling it hoochcooling for bout a week or more now.
To speak or it I have started to build my own cooler!!!!

Please understand that I am a transplanted Yankee, and therefore no expert, but "hooch" in Tennesee (TN in abbreviation) is corn whiskey made illegally to avoid paying taxes on it. It is also called "moonshine", "mountain dew" (now you know where that comes from if you didn't before) and dozins of other euphemistic names. Now I don't reckon this is the fluid TnProud cools his system with (I could be wrong about that) but rather it refers to the incredible array of copper tubing which makes his computer look very much like a moonshine still (distillery for those of you who've never heard the term). I hope this helps/ If not, you might visit his home page, which includes pictures.

Would there be any benefit in cooling w/ hooch? Why waste it.
Maybe it was a bad batch? Or just the fact that he has lots of it. ;-) And I can't help but imagine why he has all those copper pipes left over...
Why would he be wasting it. when he goes below freezing he won't have to have Antifreeze.

I can't take credit for the "hoochcooler" name, someone called it that in one of these posts. I believe he was referring to the fact that I was going to use Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey to cool my Celerons. Admittedly the system does resemble a moonshine still, that's just the way it turned out. I haven't bought the Jack D. yet, but a friend was kind enough to drop off a Mason jar of some real corn-mash whiskey. I would guess its near 200 proof and pure as the driven snow. I wouldn't drink it, but I just might try to cool a few Celerons with it. I think it shares the same freezing point as Hell.
PS, lots of people make fun of my HoochCooler, but they don't have a clue what its like to pilot dual 624mhz Celerons. Its butter smooth and almost makes me bust a nut everytime I click the mouse.
I am coming to get you TN just broke 600.
