My first was a 90mhz with the FDIV bug (such a screamer back then!), then a pentium pro 200, p3-450, went through a few athlon x64's, back over to the Core 2's to my now i7-930. Feeling that upgrade itch starting! :D

My first decent computer was a Pentium 150, with maybe 64Mb of ram, a big step up on the dialup internet of the day from the Mac LC III I'd been using. PC Chips motherboard, remember those?
Hell yes I remember those. My step-sister got scammed by buying an overpriced system with one of these, the onboard VGA was insanely blurry and even paired a Celeron 700 it actually lost when I benched it against my old Pentium 233 MMX in Sandra.Quote:

The Pentium Lives!
On the flyrail on a musical tour of Billy Elliot right now is an automation controller for some motorized flying pieces. THe road flyman had the computer case at the heart of it open today to try changing a device, and what I saw was an Ali chipset Asus socket 7 motherboard. The device he was changing was an IDE connector that presumably held some flash memory, with a small two-pin connector close in size to a front panel connector (power likely) and a tiny slide switch I'd guess is a write-protect. Could be an AMD, but almost certainly a Pentium still working under that little HSF.
Forgot to mention: that automation program is running on DOS.
