ASUS Plans to Unveil New Tablet PC at CES

December 27, 2010
By James Alan Miller

The company that launched the netbook craze, and has become one of the most trusted names in mobile computing, will introduce a tablet PC at 2011's Consumer Electronics Show next month.

The Windows 7-run slate computer, which will probably be aimed at the enterprise, sports a 12-inch display and is to be called the Eee Pad EP121.

It will run on Intel's Intel Core i5 processor and support multi-touch input, a la the iPad. Additional features include an SD slot for storage expansion, the ability to play back high-definition video and an HDMI port, which would allow you to output that video to an external monitor or television.

Rumor has it the new tablet will go for around $599, although that has not been confirmed by ASUS. See an ASUS teaser video below to learn more about the Eee Pad EP121.
