The newest monitor from NEC Display Solutions of America is designed for photographers and users working in color-critical applications. The 23-inch MultiSync PA231W offers a 14-bit 3D lookup table for precise color calibrations and 71.6 percent coverage of the NTSC color space, along with 75.4 and 96.6 percent coverage of AdobeRGB and sRGB, respectively.

The full HD resolution (1,920 by 1,080) display features 270 nits of brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Connectivity includes DisplayPort, two DVI-D, and VGA inputs and a USB hub. DisplaySync Pro technology lets photographers working in different color spaces and operating systems control two computers connected to the MultiSync PA231W with only one keyboard and mouse, each with its own color space.

A four-way ergonomic stand offers pivot, swivel, tilt and 150mm of height adjustment, while an AmbiBright ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the monitor's brightness based on external lighting conditions. The PA231W will ship in November for $679.
