Lenovo's New Workstation Is Priced Like a PC

Intel Core or Nvidia Quadro Graphics

According to Lenovo, many computer-aided design (CAD) and digital content creation (DCC) professionals are forced by budget constraints to settle for PC- instead of workstation-class hardware. The ThinkStation E20 aims to change that, offering an independent software vendor (ISV) certified graphics platform starting at just $599.

Shipping in mid-February, the E20 offers a choice of Intel Core i3, i5, Pentium, and Xeon 3400 processors, with either Intel Core HD integrated or Nvidia Quadro discrete graphics up to the Quadro FX1800; support for error correcting code (ECC) DDR3 memory; and ISV certifications from the likes of Autodesk, Siemens, and Dassault. As a bonus, the ThinkStation E20 is Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT Gold compliant and boasts more than 50 percent recycled plastic content.
