Plug It In, Plug It In

How do you turn a laptop into a well-connected workstation? Plug it into Toshiba's Dynadock V, a compact (3 by 6.1 by 1.3 inches) desk-set centerpiece that enables peripherals like an external monitor, keyboard and mouse, printer, and headset via a single USB 2.0 connection.

Shipping next month for $120, the Dynadock V provides four USB ports, Ethernet LAN connectivity, and 3.5mm audio in and out for headphones and microphone. A front-mounted Sleep-and-Charge USB port supplies power to a cell phone, MP3 player, or other device even when the PC is turned off or disconnected from the docking station.

Built-in HD video support lets you connect a DVI or VGA monitor with up to 1,920 by 1,080 resolution to work on up to three screens at once (the notebook's own, a monitor plugged into the notebook, and a monitor plugged into the Dynadock). Video and audio drivers for Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 are included.
