Saitek Changes Backlit Keyboard to Mood Ring

Are You Blue?

July 26, 2006

Saitek Industries has brought even more flair to its backlit keyboard. Like its predecessor, the Eclipse II features colorful lighting that shines through laser-etched keys for precise typing in any lighting environment. But the new model lets users change backlight color on the fly between purple, red, and blue and adjust their glow via a dimmer mechanism.

A weighted base and large rubber feet keep the Eclipse II anchored to a desk even when gameplay gets intense, while multimedia volume, play/pause, and skip-tracks keys control media players without the need to open new application windows on screen. The keyboard will ship in August for $69.
