Shuttle's Latest Small-Form-Factor Platform Features HDMI Port
June 29, 2007
Small-form-factor PC specialist Shuttle Inc. has introduced a barebone PC platform ready for the newest home entertainment technology, with an HDCP-compliant HDMI output for viewing high-definition Blu-ray or HD DVD video on an HDTV set. An HDMI/DVI adapter allows connection to PC monitors.
The Shuttle XPC Barebone SG33G5 is based on Intel's G33 Express chipset, supporting today's 65- and tomorrow's 45-nanometer-processor Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors (as well as dual-core Pentium E2000 and single-core Celeron 400 CPUs). Intel's DirectX 9-ready Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 is ready for Windows Vista's Aero interface, while 7.1-channel surround sound makes the most of Dolby Digital Live! and DTS Connect technology.
The SG33G5 provides one front-accessible 5.25-inch and two internal 3.5-inch drive bays, with three Serial ATA and two A 3Gb/sec interfaces plus one PCI and one PCI Express x16 slot. A 250-watt power supply is standard. Mwave has introduced the cube-format system at $315.
